Oltukai Community Development Organization (OCDO)

OCDO is a registered, not-for-profit, non-governmental organization (NGO) founded in 2020 and officially registered in 2022 under the Ministry of Health, Community Development, Gender, Elderly, and Children in Tanzania (Registration No. ooNGO/R/2782).

We are based in Babati District, Manyara Region, with our headquarters in Oltukai Village, within the Maasai community. Our focus is on improving the lives of vulnerable children, orphans, women, and the elderly through education, clean water access, gender advocacy, and community development.

Our Mission

We are committed to transforming lives by supporting underprivileged children and women to shape a better future and become pioneers of development within their communities.
We believe every child has the right to grow up healthy, educated, and safe.

What We Do

Education & Child Protection
We established the Kipe Project School to offer basic education to vulnerable and orphaned children. What began under a tree now serves 25 children (13 girls, 12 boys, including 6 orphans), with two permanent classrooms completed—thanks to the generous support of The Vijay & Shama Bhardwaj Foundation.

Our vision is to grow this into a full primary, secondary, and vocational school.

Clean Water Access
With the support of Mila for Africa Foundation, OCDO successfully completed a clean water drilling project, providing reliable and safe water access to the community for the first time.

Women & Girls Empowerment
We conduct community-based training programs that raise awareness about gender equality, girls’ rights, and women’s empowerment equipping individuals with the knowledge and confidence to break cycles of poverty and inequality.

We are proud of how far we’ve come, but there is still more to do. Your support can help us build more classrooms, provide daily meals, train more families, and reach more villages with clean water and education.
